John T. Henry Auction Co. has proudly served buyers and sellers throughout North and South Carolina for over 50 years. What began in 1975 with auctions held in a horse barn—where the horses were led out before each sale—has grown into one of the region's premier online auction companies.
As Conway and the surrounding communities have grown, so have we. While the auction industry has changed dramatically over the years, our commitment to honesty, professionalism, and exceptional customer service has remained the same.

A FAMILY TRADITION
John "Teddy" Henry, Jr. became a licensed auctioneer in 1975 and holds South Carolina Auctioneer License #127 and North Carolina Auctioneer License #826. He is a Certified Estate Specialist (CES) and a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), the auction industry's highest professional designation.
Teddy is a Past President of the South Carolina Auctioneers Association (SCAA) and has been inducted into both the South Carolina Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame. He is also a proud member of both the South Carolina Auctioneers Association (SCAA) and the National Auction Association (NAA). In addition to his auction credentials, Teddy is also a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Agent, allowing our team to provide complete real estate auction and sales services.
From 1992 to 2000, Teddy proudly served as Sheriff of Horry County. During those eight years, Margaret Henry managed the day-to-day operations of John T. Henry Auction Co., ensuring the business continued to grow and serve its customers. Her leadership, dedication, and commitment during that time played a significant role in the company's continued success.
Today, the family tradition continues with Teddy's son, John T. Henry III, a licensed South Carolina Auctioneer (SCAL #4050), who works alongside his father in the family business. John III is also a proud member of both the South Carolina Auctioneers Association (SCAA) and the National Auction Association (NAA).
Teddy's daughter, Lisa Owens, serves as the company's Broker-in-Charge (BIC), overseeing our real estate division. She is joined by Chase Levy, a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Agent, who assists clients with traditional real estate listings, online real estate auctions, and all real estate-related matters.
The next generation is already becoming part of the family business with Caroline Owens and Drake Owens, continuing the family's commitment to serving our customers and community.
For more than five decades, the Henry family has worked together to build a company founded on honesty, integrity, hard work, and personal service. Those same values continue to guide us today.
